Rob Johnson’s design for Cell Block Tango for our production of Chicago

Plate for the 6 Jail Cell Units.

Cut steel for Jail Cell Units

Steel placed in a jig to ensure all 6 were uniform and perfectly square.

Rotacasters were added to each unit so they could move freely and easily in any direction.

Custom truss was welded together for the main platform unit in the show.

The arches on the unit were made from cold bending 2” steel tubing and welded in place.

The proscenium was made from several layers of lauan, plywood, and foam.

The molding for the top of the arch was made of different layers of plywood.

The applique on the set was made in multiple layers to give it more depth and texture.
